Ageing is performed to obtain hardening of the so called precipitation hardening alloys.

The process is carried out by heating to specific temperatures in order to bring into solution the chemical components of the alloy. When the alloy is cooled the result is a very fine and uniform structure.

Fine precipitation acts on dislocation movement and on the crystalline structure of the alloy enhancing its mechanical performance.
